Before work
I look out the window
heavy rain BLOG 012
after a while
only a few puddles are left
the leaves of the plum trees
are soaking wet
I put on the raincoat
later a strong shower
two, three minutes long
today is Friday
should it rain
I forget that I live on a small island
for suddenly a strong wind comes from the sea
entangles itself in the trees,
sees off the grey weather front
and blows the dampness from the plantation
blue sky
now Lito smiles as well
my Portuguese colleague
who grew up by the sea
where the sun shines more often
and the waves surely are as tall as buildings
Lito is a surfer
After work
closing time beer
we sit together for a short while
Kezzie and Josh from England
are going to the supermarket tomorrow
to the mainland
we write a list
4 x milk and gouda
I’m happy
that they thought of me
